The Thought: An Aspies account

Hello again,

just had a thought. this may seem like radical thinking but can’t help to see how much of our lives are filled with thought. The thought, I believe is the one curse of humanity. Once you have your first thought, It can’t be shut off or slowed down. It keeps coming at you like an unstoppable force. For every second that passes I have at least 5 to 10 thoughts. It’s no wonder many people with Asperger’s get exhausted and worn out. When you have to deal with something so persistent and evasive as thoughts, it doesn’t leave time for much of anything else. If only we could somehow control it, than we may overcome the burden of thought.

If anyone has any comments or opinions about this, please leave a comment. I would like to hear your “thoughts.”

Wow. I couldn’t agree with you more. Thoughts take up a HUGE amount of time. It’s absolutely ludicrous and insane to think about how much time we take up just thinking of things. At times, it seems that you start to feel numb, like thoughts, instead of action, are the only things that exist. Does that make sense?

  2. axelvideo says:

Yes it does. Thought and Action both do exist, however, both should be considered parts to the body of social reality. Both are ways for us to make sense of all the bodies of this world and thought is a way to describe what we perceive from our own senses. In essence, These actions help us explain thought, but it does nothing to help us explain social reality, since thought exists only within communication. Without it we can not communicate and it is the fundamental barrier preventing us from any kind of social interaction. I find it odd that the biggest obstacle for us within social reality is also a very necessary tool that we need to keep order in the world. I hope this makes sense, and I didn’t confuse you.
